Sept. 3, 1930 - July 21, 2010
Horst was born in Frankfurt, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1951. He worked on a farm in Saskatchewan for one year before coming to B.C., where he ended up in 100 Mile House, working at several of the small sawmills. He later brought Anny over from Germany and they were married in Williams Lake. Horst worked at Canim Lake Sawmills and the Weldwood Plywood Plant until he retired. He enjoyed hobby farming, gardening, and collecting stamps. He always had a lot of stories to tell about his childhood and what it was like in 100 Mile House in the old days. Horst passed away at Fischer Place after a long battle with leukemia. He is survived by his loving wife, Anny, of 56 years, his son Rick (Laura), and grandchildren, Violet and Jeremiah. Horst will be missed, but forever remembered. No service by request.
