Lorraine was the second of three children born to Robert and Jessie Mura of Hamilton, Ontario. At the young age of 18, she met and married her handsome soldier, Charles Faessler, who was then stationed in Orilla, Ontario. They married on December 27, 1945. Charlie was sent on ahead to Nanaimo to await his discharge from the army. Lorraine was to follow at a later date before heading to his homestead at Bridge Lake, BC.

Lorraine became a very active member in the community. She belonged to the Women’s Institute, the Fall Fair, The Community Club and the Quilter’s Club, just to name a few. She also wrote for the 100 Mile Free Press and Kamloops newspapers for many years. She was known as a local historian and has written many short stories featuring the local pioneers.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 72 years, Charlie; her sister, Lois; five children, Johann (Ken), John (Meridee), Catherine (Wayne), Carol (Eric) and Ken (Erin); 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Lorraine was predeceased by two infant sons; her parents and her brother, Bob.

The family would like to thank her friends who faithfully went to visit Mom, the staff at Millsite Lodge and Dr. Nicholson for her care.

A graveside burial service took place at Lakeview Cemetery, Roe Lake, BC on August 18, 2017.
