Francis Roy Coles

June 26, 2004

Born Nov. 29, 1926. Passed away June 26, 2004. Roy was born in England. He was a carpenter by trade. In April 1956 he came to Canada with only a few pounds in his pocket and a dream making a new life for his young family. Being blessed with an outgoing friendly nature, he soon established himself with a place to live and a job. His wife and two small children joined him the following November. After living in North Vancouver until 1965, he moved his family to the small rural town of Haney. He proceeded to build a new house. All this while commuting back and forth every day to work in the city. He retired in 1987. On a snowy day in November, they moved into their new home at the 108 Mile Ranch. He was a craftsman and he left his mark from the north to south of this province. Small monuments that will be there long after his family have gone to join him. He is survived by his loving wife Marg; his son David and daughter-in-law April; daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Kerry; grandson David and his wife Rhonda; grandson Mark; granddaughters Alisa and Melanie and great grandchildren Darren, Rachael and Joshua. Sincere appreciation to our kind neighbours who have shown such support. In lieu of flowers, a small donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
