Ernest Brian Begg, of 100 Mile House, B.C. passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the age of 78, in Mill Site Lodge after his 6 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

His family rejoices to know he is with his Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven and has been given a new and glorious body. We all praise God you are no longer suffering.

Brian was born on January 23, 1939 in Kenora, Ontario to Ernest and Irene Begg.

His first job was with CP Rail in Kenora, Ontario. He met his beloved wife, Beverly Ann Begg, while living there and married her on September 30, 1961. They just recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.

In 1964, Brian worked in Dryden Paper Mill and in 1967 he joined the Municipal Police in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. In 1970, the family moved to Squamish, B.C., where he went to work for BC Rail and the local RCMP office as a dispatcher. He retired in 2001, after working 7 days a week to raise his family, he finally got to enjoy gardening, fishing and baby sitting his many grandchildren. 

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; children, Brenda (Newman), Micah, Cathy (Fryer) Alan, Jim and Lorelei, Deanna (Brennan) Ian, and Tracy and Bill; his many grandchildren, Alaina (Josh), Felicia (Brett), Trevor (Melissa), Clarissa (Jerry), Douglas, Shauneen (Scott), Adriana, Jordan, Ayden, Cassidy, Callum, Keegan and Camryn; and great grandchildren, Isla, Aarya, Brynley, Bria and Mackenzie.

Brian was pre-deceased by his mother, Irene; father, Ernest; his baby sister shortly after her birth, Eva; and his brother, Ron.  He leaves behind four brothers, Duncan, Kelvin, Keith (Margaret) and Gary (Val).

A memorial service will be held on Friday,

May 19, 2017 at 1 pm at the Good News Centre, 5827 Horse Lake Road, 100 Mile House, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
