November 16, 2007

Pat-Thorsteinson

March 17,1925 - Nov. 16, 2007

Pat was born in Darlington, England to Frank and Edna Abbott, the third of seven children. Pat met her future husband during World War II. They were married June 8, 1945 and in June 1946 Pat arrived in Canada as a young war bride. The first year in Canada she spent in Victoria, B.C., then in 1947, Pat and Gordon moved to 93 Mile House where they raised their family. Mom took great pride in her home and was a great homemaker. She loved to cook and clean and have family dinners. Mom loved friends and family and we all knew that we came first in her life. Pat will be remembered by family and friends for her great sense of humour, laughter, kindness and the joy she brought to all our lives. Pat was predeceased by her youngest son Keith in Dec. 1997, and her grandson Kevin Brickley November, 2002. She was also predeceased by brothers Bill, Stan, Harry, Austin and her sister Joyce, all from Darlington. Pat will be dearly missed by her loving husband Gordon, daughter Valerie (Jim) Brickley, son Brian (Colette); grandchildren Maureen (Troy) Monkman, Ken Brickley, Shannon (Andre) Hofmann, Jamie Thorsteinson, Alexis Thorsteinson, Travis Thorsteinson, Ashton Price and her great-grandchildren Savanna and Justyce Brickley, Tanner Monkman and Deserae Thorsteinson, brother Dennis (Margaret) and cousin Dora Hancock in England. Also many nieces, nephews and great friends. Thank you to Dr. Lubbe for taking great care of our Mom. Thank you also to the staff at Fischer Place for the care and compassion you showed to our Mom for the last month.
