Dowling Monette peacefully passed away on September 22, 2010 at the age of 89. His adventurous spirit brought him from his birthplace of Quebec out west to B.C. several times. He made his way to the Cariboo where through his talents and love of music he made many friends. He finally settled in the Lone Butte area where he met and married Marie and together they raised their family. His strong work ethic helped him to establish himself in the logging industry where he eventually formed his own company and worked for many years. In his retirement years he continued to entertain his many friends and family with his sense of humour and musical talents.

Dowling is survived by his wife Marie and his children Adele (Bernie) Kaluza, Joe (Kim) Monette, Michele (Stan) Kaluza; his grandchildren Jennifer (Adrian), Clark (Leah), Ashley, Lindsay and Alyson; as well as his great granddaughters Amira, Malayna and Marie. He’s also survived by his brother Frank and sister Monica of Ottawa, many nieces and nephews and his loyal friend Roy.

Memorial Donations may be made to Fischer Place, 555 Cedar Ave, Bag 399, 100 Mile House, BC V0K 2E0
