March 1941 – November 2010

Deanna passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 12th.

Deanna was born in Canora, Saskatchewan. Upon finishing high school, she enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan graduating with a degree in Education. In 1963, Omer and Deanna were married in Vancouver, B.C. They later moved to the Cariboo Chilcotin where they raised their family.

Deanna was a lively spirit with a real positive outlook on life that revolved around her children and grandchildren, reading, traveling and trying new things. She always had time to lend an ear and offer a kind word of encouragement enabling us to believe and have courage in ourselves.

Deanna’s smile always said home, welcoming and accepting everyone who came through her door. Her cookies were the best on the block and her kindness knew no bounds.

She was a teacher until the end giving us our final lessons and insights that each of us needed right up to the moment she passed.

Deanna is survived by her husband Omer, her three children: Michele, Mike (Joanne) and Jeff (Agnieszka); her six grandchildren: Olivia, Jared, Tim, Jacob, Lindsey and Mati as well as her sister, Helen; many nieces, nephews and numerous family and friends.

A Celebration of Deanna’s Life will be held on Thursday, November 18th – 11:00 AM at St. Judes Catholic Church followed by a reception downstairs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the B.C. Lung Association P.O. Box 34009, Station D, Vancouver, BC V6J 9Z9.
