David Osborne LACKEY

June 17, 2005

The family of David regretfully announces that David passed away on June 17, 2005 at the Mill Site Lodge, 100 Mile House, after a lengthy struggle with Lupus. He leaves behind in his immediate family, his wife Sandi; his children Diana, Donald, David and adopted daughter Sharon; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Surviving David are sisters Dorothy, Ruth, Grace, and brother John. David was predeceased by his sister Mary. David was born in Montreal in 1938. He moved west to Vancouver Island in 1949 to later live in Calgary, Vernon, then Vancouver before moving to Deka Lake in 1982 and more recently to 100 Mile House. David sold real estate for several years in the Cariboo and will be well-remembered as the ‘Roaming Realtor’ on station 840 AM ‘The Wolf’. David made major contributions to the communities in which he lived. He was the program director for the Calgary and Burnaby YMCA and the director of the Vernon Boys and Girls Club. David was variously involved as a volunteer fire fighter at Deka Lake and local baseball organizations. His other interests included canoeing, marathon running, family and breeding German Shepherds. David’s family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care he received from Mill Site Lodge, staff and various medical services from the area, doctors and hospitals. Anyone who wishes to remember David in lieu of flowers, may make a contribution to the Mill Site Lodge and/or the Lupus Foundation. David’s positive outlook and spirit will be held close in our hearts with many memories and we hope he rests in peace.
