Born May 29, 1918 in Springfield, Orgeon, Cecil Lane Higgins passed away on August 17, 2005 at Dawson Creek, B.C. He is predeceased by his son Peter in 1991. Cecil is survived by his son Roger of Scarborough, Ontario; daughter Betty Schleif of Goldendale, Washington; one granddaughter, Denette Love and one great-granddaughter Christen; two sisters, Noveta Leavitt of Bridge Lake and Beulah McMillan of Salmon Arm; and many, many nieces and nephews. Cecil spent all of his younger years at Roe Lake with his parents Ed and Irene Higgins. He and his wife Elsie moved to Mile 175 of the Alaska Highway in 1962 where they ran a hunting lodge for many years. Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Cemetary at Roe Lake. Tea to follow at Roe Lake Hall.
