Art passed away suddenly in a tragic motor vehicle accident on October 30, 2004 at the age of 73. Art was born on June 4, 1931 in Alcomdale, Alta. He was the Assist. Fire Chief of the New Westminster Fire Dept. until his retirement. His love of the outdoors and its preservation was his continuous passion. His work with the Sapperton Fish and Game Club earned him a lifetime membership and will be remembered by many. Art is survived by his loving daughters; Sandra of Williams Lake, B.C.; Sharon of Gibsons, B.C.; Marlene of Beaverdell, B.C.; Kelly of Vancouver, B.C.; and Brenda of Barriere, B.C.; Also survived by brothers Walter of Summerland, B.C.; Gordon of Castlegar; sisters Doreen of Langley, B.C.; and Mable of Vancouver and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service was held on Mon., Nov. 8, 2004 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in 100 Mile House, B.C. The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art’s memory can be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church in 100 Mile House or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
