It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Balmer. He is survived by his wife, Margrit of 48 years; daughters, Marlene (Christoph) and Irene (Ruedi); son, Christian and grandson, Julien.
Albert was born in Gstaad, Switzerland. He was a painter, avid mountain guide and ski instructor. The mountains were his big love. In 1993, he and his wife immigrated to Canada for a new adventure. They made their home in the Cariboo; Lac la Hache and later 100 Mile House.
The family would like to thank Dr. Owega, the nurses and paramedics at 100 Mile Dist. General Hospital for the care they gave to Albert. They also extend their gratitude to the friends who are supporting Margrit and family at this time.
By his own request, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Albert’s memory to our local Hospice through the hospital - Bag #399, 100 Mile House, BC V0K 2E0
