The Lone Butte Volunteer Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle incident at 8:36 p.m. on Nov. 29, with two apparatus and 12 members.

The incident occurred at the Horse Lake Road cutoff.

“Upon getting to the incident there was basically a head-on collision. All occupants had abdicated on their own and everybody sustained minor injuries… Everyone was very lucky for what the scene was.” said Fire Chief Jon Grieve. “We did have one car that was catching fire but it was extinguished.”

All three people involved in the incident were transported to the hospital.

“It looked like road conditions were a factor, it was very icy up there,” said Grieve. “We were called in for sanding and what not as well because it was pretty slick out there.”

The RCMP were on scene as well and are doing their own investigation.
