Prohibited and impaired driving

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 87 calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:

Active patrols

During the last week, a number of pro-active patrols were made to the local Forestry Recreation Sites in the 100 Mile House area.

No problems were identified.

Detachment Personnel will continue to make patrols over the summer busy season.

Prohibited driving

On June 16, Cariboo-Chilcotin Traffic Services were conducting a road check at Forest Grove.

A vehicle stopped and turned around before the road check.

The vehicle was pursued and eventually located in a field nearby.

The male driver was determined to be a prohibited driver and subject to a number of Motor Vehicle Act sanctions.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days and the driver received several violation tickets.

Impaired driving

On June 13, 100 Mile RCMP conducted a vehicle check in downtown 100 Mile House of a Ford pick-up truck in relation to a complaint from earlier in the evening.

During a discussion with the male driver of the pick-up, he displayed symptoms of liquor consumption.

An approved screening device was administered at the scene which was a “fail.”

A second test was administered and the result was also a “fail.”

The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days.
