Possible postal disruption looms

Canada Post advises customers to 'take precautions'

Canada's postal system may be shut down by July 2 if a contract settlement isn't reached with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) by then.

In a June 27 press release, Canada Post indicates that its customers should "take precautions" toward the possible legal work disruption. (See www.canadapost.ca, under News and Alerts.)

Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Cathy McLeod says it will the responsibility of the current Liberal government to ensure Canadians continue to have access to high-quality postal service.
