On Feb. 8, at approximately 10:54 a.m., 100 Mile House Fire Rescue responded to a loader fire at the West Fraser Mill. Upon arrival, crews observed a loader fully involved in fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and appreciated the quick call placed to 911 by mill staff. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

While finishing up at the mill, 100 Mile House Fire Rescue responded to a rescue call where a woman was trapped on her home roof. The woman was able to get onto her roof in order to shovel snow, however, the ladder used was too small to get off the roof. Crews arrived quickly, deployed their ladder, and assisted the woman off the roof. The woman was in good spirits and was not injured.
