By Al Jones.

In keeping with the theme of the last issue of the Free Press’ Cariboo Calling, “Children of the Pioneers”, we had an interesting family reunion at our home on Sunday, May 23rd.

Charlie Reed is the larger than life, Lone Butte pioneer featured on the southern wall of the South Cariboo movie theatre.

His daughter, Audrey Woodman came with her three daughters Ester Gellrich, Lorna Sapp and Kathy Sitter for a reunion with Charlie’s eldest son, Jim Reed’s daughters, Linda King, Louise Leavett and Gayle Jones.

If you think, I might be the odd man out at this all female family reunion, you would be correct and I worked outside, while the women reminisced.

Reportedly, they shared many laughs and even a few tears over passed on loved ones but thoroughly enjoyed their reunion luncheon.

Craft fair

The next Lone Butte craft fair/flea market is on Saturday, June 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call Pat at 250-395-2114 to rent a table.
