Interlakes Carpet Bowling Club finished out the year with the honour of helping to host the Provincial Championships in 100 Mile in early May, and their fours coming away with a bronze medal (third place) out of ten competitors.

Community Showcase

Bridge Lake librarian Brenda Tillyer welcomes Bridge Lake’s Irene Pearson to the library’s Community Showcase for the month of June. Irene says of the crocheting she has practised for some 20 years, “I tried knitting and hated it. Then, in Arizona one winter, my neighbour—who turns out afghans at great rate—taught me how to do it, so I had a very good teacher. I enjoy it and usually crochet whilst watching TV. I might also display some beaded flowers.”

Summer break

While many regular Interlakes activities, including duplicate bridge and carpet-bowling have already ceased for the summer, and Deka Ladies Auxiliary and the Log Cabin Quilters will cease in June, the Photo Group at Interlakes Community Centre (ICC,) and crib at Deka Firehall continue all year round.

Excercise

ICC’s Tuesday morning Fitness Circuit is now the Walking Club at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to bring their ideas as to where they would like to walk.

A new Restorative Yoga course commences June 27 at the ICC, Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to participate must book in advance; call 250-593-4869.
