“It went very well actually,” says Eric Grummisch, President of the 100 Mile House Community Band of the performance at the 100 Mile House United Church on Sunday, June 4.

In terms of attendance, we had “not as many as we would like. We had about 35 or 40 people and we raised $238 for the South Cariboo Health Foundation.”

Grummisch says the concert is a yearly event, which is normally held in June at Martin Exeter Hall, but that the costs of renting the hall were too high.

The performance was conducted by Dave Hooper

“It was a mix of mostly lighter music. It was a mix of classical and jazz music and we had … a dozen of [band members] in attendance,” says Grummisch. “I think it was well received. The performers enjoyed performing in the concert.”

“One thing I would like to get out there is we’re always looking for new members,” says Grummisch, adding that the new season starts up again in September in addition to performing at the South Cariboo Summer Festival on August 12 and “three of us will be playing at the Arts Festival Concert that’s going to occur on the evening of June 14 at [Martin] Exeter Hall.”
