Moonlight Madness was an exciting night for most of the businesses in 100 Mile’s downtown area as customers patrolled the stores for discounts.

“It went really well, like, we’re very happy how it turned out,” said Frankie Vitorino, owner of The Outlaw.

Vitorino and Ken Thomas, owner of Work N’ Play, have no idea how many people came into their respective stores but both say it was an excellent night.

“It was crowded,” said Thomas.

“I couldn’t estimate how many people but it was a full- house.”

The night isn’t just about shopping but coming together as a community and catching up with people you haven’t touched base with in a while.

“People get together and a lot of them are talking. It’s more of a big community event more than just shopping,” said Thomas. “Some of them want to shop and that’s it, others are talking to neighbours and friends they haven’t seen in a while and that’s cool.”

Vitorino concluded with Thomas, saying it was a good feeling and everyone enjoyed coming together.

“I really enjoy when the kids just finish watching the parade and come in an tell us all about it,” she said about her favourite moments of the night.

“That really means a lot to me - families are out, children are out. It’s a really good feeling to be part of it.”
